Group Presentation
Each group will have 10 minutes to make a presentation about organic chemistry. You may use power point, video, audio, overhead projector, handouts… basically anything we have available at school. If you need something besides power point, be sure to let me know so I can have your copies and equipment ready before class on Friday.
Make your presentation interesting! Include things that YOU find interesting, and think others in the class (not just me) will find interesting. Be creative and original!
Your presentation on Friday should answer most, but not necessarily all, of the following questions:
• What is Organic Chemistry?
• What do Organic Chemists do?
• What makes Organic different from other areas of chemistry?
• What kinds of jobs/careers are available in Organic Chemistry? Where?
• What kind of current (in the last 5 years) research is being done in Organic Chemistry? Tell us about one in particular. (required)
• What kind of salary can you make being an Organic Chemist?
• What does a typical Organic Chemistry class study?
• Why is Organic Chemistry important?
• When would you typically study Organic chemistry in college? For what majors?
