Assignment:
Over the past few units you have discussed research and the multiple actors involved in environmental policy in order to evaluate programs and issues. For this Assignment, choose an environmental policy or program that interests you and create a plan to evaluate the performance of the environmental policy or program. Prepare a 10−15 slide PowerPoint presentation that outlines the main objectives of the plan. This Assignment will be due at the end of Unit 6.
Be sure to include:
- The agencies and other stakeholders involved; identify the interests and positions of key stakeholders.
- Identify the type(s) of data required.
- Explain how the data will be used to measure the policy or program (linking data to method(s) used) in each of the steps of the performance evaluation.
- Include the steps in the performance evaluation, identifying the variables and criteria used at each step, and indicate how the inclusion of those particular variables and criteria will show positive or negative outcomes.
- Offer alternatives to the policy or program that might be suggested as outcomes of the evaluations.
- Show what the analysis will mean for future situations, for stakeholders immediately and over time, and for the effects of the policy or program on individuals, organizations, and the larger society.
