The paper is to be 3 typed pages (that is, no less than 3, no more than 4), double spaced, with 1-inch margins. If you use any sources, that is, if you quote, paraphrase, or refer to any material from any source, you must cite your sources in proper MLA format and include a Works Cited page. Consult the Purdue OWL or A Writer's Reference (under Webliography) for guidelines.
Paper Topic: I'd like you to compose a character analysis of one of the characters in Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992. As you read the play, choose a character you would like to investigate further and focus on this character for your analysis. That is, in a paper of 3-4 pages, offer a close discussion of your sense of that character's personality. Look carefully at what the character says and does, what the tone of her language is, and any other clues you can find to discover what makes that character tick. In a well-argued presentation, discuss how the evidence you present adds up to the conclusion you have reached about that character's character.
What is especially important in this paper is for you to demonstrate your ability to read through the material and infer what is said indirectly. Critical thinking and analysis is about the ability to see beyond the surface of things to the implied message. This paper, therefore, asks that you deduce something about a character and then describe the basis of your deduction by discussing carefully selected portions of the text that gave you your insights. Your deduction will be your thesis statement.
