Both the Artifacts and environmental factors are helpful in identifying the nonverbal communication. Artifacts are the stimulus in the environment and the environment factors refers to the place where communication occurs. There are a number of factors for the environment and artifacts which causes effect in the non verbal communication. The appropriateness is the factor of both in the environment and provides information about the verbal behaviors. Example for artifact is the smell. The people will behave differently according to the smell they observed. The smell can change the minds of the person and if it is unpleasant the peoples can’t eat at the environment.
The communication can be inhibited or facilitated by the arrangement of furniture in a room. The arrangement of furniture can be placed according to the things like television, computer etc. When the room is arranged for geriatric then there will be no enthusiasm in the room. When the arrangements of furniture are in the rotational form then there will be a chance for everyone to communicate with each other and the interactions are invited. The environment in which the furniture are not designed with linger will affect the comfort for communication. Promote and the discourage interactions are according to the arrangements and they are expressed in the non verbal function. The furniture must be placed according the space of the room with certain number that suit the communication environment.
